SEXUAL ASSAULT & TRAUMA RESOURCE CENTER TO ANNOUNCE NEW NAME, CAPITAL CAMPAIGN For Immediate Release: April 11, 2006
Providence, RI: April 11, 2006 -- Sexual Assault & Trauma Resource Center will hold a news conference to announce its new name, to unveil its new logo, and to kick-off its capital campaign at the site of its new
headquarters. Members of the Congressional delegation, Attorney General Patrick Lynch, as well as representatives from R.I. DCYF, many police departments and the Attorney General's Office are expected
to attend the conference, which is held during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
WHAT: Press conference held by Sexual Assault & Trauma Resource Center SATRC's mission is to reduce the prevalence of sexual abuse and violence, and to support and advocate for those affected by it. For more than 30 years, SATRC has been on the forefront of efforts to end
sexual violence in R.I. Established in 1973 as the R.I. Rape Crisis Center, SATRC is the only agency in R.I. organized specifically to deal with issues of sexual assault as a community concern.
