DAY ONE TRAINS PROVIDENCE POLICE OFFICERS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT

detectives on a multidisciplinary approach to investigating sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and severe physical abuse cases.
This approach enhances interviewing, case coordination, information sharing, evidence collection, medical evaluation, outcomes, and victim services. Team members include representatives from law enforcement
and child protective services, prosecutors, victim advocates, and mental health and medical professionals.
The training will update and orient Providence Police Officers to protocols of the Children's Advocacy
Center and the Sexual Assault Response Team, both key programs of Day One. In addition, participants will review recent Supreme Court cases on child sexual abuse and effective methods in sexual assault
investigations, presented by the RI Attorney General's office.
