DAY ONE TO HOST SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS ADVOCACY GROUP MEETING For Immediate Release: April 9, 2010 Providence, R.I. - (April 9, 2010) - An informational meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27,
2010 for sexual assault survivors interested in joining One Voice, a survivor advocacy group dedicated to using advocacy and public speaking as a vehicle to end sexual violence. The meeting with be held in at
Day One's Providence Headquarters at 100 Medway Street. A survivor sharing her/his personal story helps to dispel common stereotypes and misconceptions and
sends a message that survivors can heal and thrive, often making it easier for other survivors to come forward. Through education, awareness, empowerment and service, this group will bring survivors

One Voice is a program of Day One, Rhode Island's sexual assault and trauma resource center. For more than thirty-five years, Day One has been responding to the needs of sexual assault victims throughout the
state. Its mission is to reduce the trauma and prevalence of sexual abuse and violence. The program is made possible by a grant from the Women's Fund of Rhode Island. |
