The RI Children's Advocacy Center provides a child-friendly atmosphere in which a child can be interviewed by one person while others involved in the
investigation can observe and participate by watching through a one-way mirror or a television monitor. We also have the capacity to videotape the interview, further preventing
the child from having to repeat the disclosure more than is necessary. Although the child will still need to be present at Grand Jury, the videotape can be used instead of the child's in-person testimony. Often the child will
not be required to make a statement, or will have to make only a minimal statement. |
