 HOW WE CAN HELP:
- The CAC provides a safe and comfortable place for your child to tell about abuse.
- The CAC decreases the number of times and number of people your child will have to talk with about the abuse.
- The CAC helps prepare your child for court if the case is prosecuted.
- The CAC helps you communicate with all the professionals involved in the case.
- The CAC provides referrals for counseling for the child.
- The CAC does not pressure children to talk.
PLEASE REMEMBER:
- The Center cannot guarantee that your child, if referred, will qualify for an interview
- The Center cannot guarantee the case will be prosecuted. The interview is only part of the investigation.
- The Center cannot guarantee that your child will be accepted as a witness in court.
- The Center cannot prevent your child from testifying in court, although we can help your child prepare for court in the event they must testify.
- The Center cannot guarantee the offender will go to jail.
